Hi all. New here and loving my resident hummers.
I have a female Costa's Hummingbird in winter residence protecting
2 feeders spaced about 15 feet apart.
She has been chasing 1 male and 1 female out of the yard and still
getting ample time to do some perching.
However. Yesterday a 2nd male has come into the yard and the war
is on between to 2 males. Completely disrupting the female's life.
Is there anything I can do to help the female out.
The backyard is enclosed with a wall. The back wall is about 50 feet
in length and my wife has planted a wonderful flower garden in
a raised bed the entire length of the wall.
1 feeder is about a 3rd of the way down the wall and the second
feeder is in line with that one but a bit closer to the house. But not
too close.
Should I move the closer feeder onto the flower bed but down at
the other end of the wall, or add a 3rd feeder?
Thanks
