Hi insect experts. I've never tried this ID forum before, but have had it recommended to me. I have a puzzle I haven't been able to google my way to an answer on. Nor have I found an ID at the library. But I'm thinking it ought to be possible to ID this bee with its distinctive oar-like back legs. I'm including two views - one to show the bee more or less in profile (for color and hair patterns etc.) and one that highlights that back leg. The pics are from Trondheim, Norway. in late September this year. They were taken in a weedy patch by a railroad track. The flowers look similar to penstemon. There were other bee-flies and bumblebees nectaring there as well, plus this one that I can't ID. I hope someone here can help.
