It's a apartment I'm staying in Oban and I'm right by the sea and already seeing Gulls in the distance I will get my binoculars and have a look out.

Perhaps I shouldn't have been birding from my hotel balcony in Central Havanna on the 1st morning of my honeymoon, but I was... and photographed a flyover Mississippi kite - 2nd for Cuba, 3rd for the Caribbean. A decent start to the holiday! B

Did you go to The Ferry Inn in Ullapool that was my local when I was there.

We certainly did Euan. I vaguely remember having a decent pint (Flying Scotsman?) and some ok scallops. The chip shop further along is well worth a visit too.:t:

Thanks for the tips guys. I will be in that area (staying at Unapool) for a week during my family holiday in July (as opposed to my full on birding week in Cairngorms & Mull end of April)B
