Blue Tits working together (1 Viewer)

Hello.I think I have an unusual situation with my nesting box.
I appear to have two females working together, having laid approx 18 eggs, many have now hatched. Both 'mothers' come in to feed the young.
The male comes in to feed either of the females, who then passes the food on to the other female, who then feeds the young. Both females spend the night together.
Has anybody else seen this before?

Hello Diana and on behalf of the entire staff here at Bird Forum, a very warm welcome to you.

You couldn't have found a more knowledgeable person on the blue tits than Elizabeth. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Hi Elizabeth
Yes I managed to find my way here, at last!
The eggs are hatching/hatched.
Absolutely wonderful watching them all.
I think both females take it in turn to feed the chicks., they seem to be getting on well. So far!
If you would like to email me your address I will send photos and the CD if you like.
I am really pleased to have found an authority on 'my' birds.
Thank you.
Diana
