Bristol to Ruppell's Vulture (6 Viewers)

Glad you saw the vulture in the end Richard :t: awkward thing that it is!

We made it back to Bristol yesterday so the trip's officially over. Not a lot else to report, but for the sake of completeness:-

A nice male Hen Harrier popped up somewhere on our way to Dieppe, then a couple of Grey Partridges somewhere in southern england, then an unscheduled cracking BF tick, Abagguley, appeared at Bearded Theory festival in Derbyshire. Nicky saw some Red Grouse on a moorland walk around Townhead in Yorkshire a couple of days after the festival but I was still too hanging to join the people going for a walk.

We continued north and tried for Azure Hawker at Silver Flowe in Galloway forest before going to Knockengorrach festival, as although early (May 27th) the weather had been really good. We did see hundreds of Four-spotted Chasers, at least 7 Golden-ringed Dragonflies and lots of Red and Common Blue Damselflies, but no luck with the biggie. 3 flushed male Black Grouse were an excellent bonus though. The last trip tick was a Manx Shearwater seen of a headland near Kirkubright where we found a lovely parkup. The festival site itself had Tree Pipits and Crossbills.

Bit of city life next and a non-birdy festy type summer with not much BF, and more music-making would do me the most good right now.
