Cheshire And Wirral Birding: Hills, Lowland and Coast (3 Viewers)

No reference to this bird in Collins. is this likely to be an escaped collection bird ??

Just seen the Marbled Duck thread from RBA. An ex Staffordshire bird seems the most likely.

Runcorns Leucistic magpie is still around after a month.

This morning about 6.30am it was in Cheltenham Crescent and Ascot Ave on the rooftops. It remains loyal to that housing estate, often foraging under the cherry trees opposite the few shops.

Not often you see a white, tan, brown and pink magpie!

Is there some special boating trip which takes people out to see all those seabirds in the second paragraph?

They've finished this season, but we've been going out with The Liverpool Bay Marine conservation group on their shark-tagging trips. Since they use fish finder technology to locate the fish that sharks (and seabirds) are after, then use chum to attract Sharks, they've proven to be a good way to get closer to tubenoses.

I'm sure they'll do it again next year.
