So they propose to create a new family: Oreoicidae with Aleadryas, Oreoica and Pitohui (Ornorectes) cristatus, and perhaps another one with Ifrita.

On the other hand they propose to lump Cracticus, Artamus and Peltops in the Artamidae.

Nothing is proposed for the melaconotoids where Rhagologus clusters with Batis and Laniarus with Telophorus.

Finally as explained in the abstract, Falcunculus is within the Pachycephalidae, but both Mohoua and Daphoenositta have no obvious links to any pachycephaline genera.

Families of Corvides
Our results suggest that families within Corvides are generally temporally consistent with only marginal changes required. These changes involve: 1) defining Pteruthius, which is currently part of the Vireonidae, as a separate family; 2) treating Lamprolidae as a separate family, including the genera Lamprolia and Chaetorhynchus, as already suggested by Schodde and Christidis (2014); 3) treating Prionopidae as part of the Vangidae, as already suggested by Fuchs et al., (2012); and 4) treating Cracticidae and Artamidae as a single family. Finally, we note that while a temporally consistent delimitation supports treating Pityriaseidae as part of the Malaconotidae, this relationship lacks statistical support.

I'd love to see the supplementary material, to see what their proposed new classification is in detail. As per the paper, Eutrichomyias and (surprisingly) Urolestes were the only genera missing from their analysis. The enigmatic Androphobus must have been sampled, since they indicate that all 5 species (100%) of the Psophodidae were included, and all 5 appear to form a clade (you can just make out the terminal branches by zooming in on the tree). Megalampitta also appears to have been sampled, since there are two terminal branches in the Melampittidae.

I have some issues with the application of temporal banding to the classification, especially when it comes to delimiting genera - if 11.79 MYA is the cut-off point for delimiting genera, then most of the Paradisaeidae are in one genus (except presumably Lycocorax/Manucodia). At the other end, Vireonidae, Oriolidae, and Campephagidae just miss the cutoff to be further subdivided into additional families, or Machaerirhynchidae/Rhagologidae, Aegithinidae/Pityriasidae/Malaconotidae, and Platysteiridae/Vangidae all just avoid being merged, although in each case the sister relationships are not statistically supported (as they acknowledge for Pityriasidae + Malaconotidae).

It is possible to determine genus level classification from the supplementary material.

Androphobus is included in Psophodes with P. olivaceus but NOT with P. nigrogularis (for which the genus Phodopses seems to be available)

Megalampitta is subsumed back into Melampitta

Yes, all birds of paradise except Manucodia & Lycocorax are included in Paradisaea

I'll post the full classification next - if it will fit - there are plenty of surprises! The authors don't resurrect or propose new generic names but many exist for their new circumscriptions.

WHAAAAAAAT!!!!! I have just read that and honestly i think that a lot of arrangement sucks for many genera especially genus Paradisaea WTF !!!
