Cranes migrating? (1 Viewer)

During the last week, in SW Spain, I have seen about 10 flocks of cranes flying North. About 20-40 in each flock, so not a large number. It seems early to start migration. Perhaps they have started but will spend some time at intermediate stops. Anyone seen anything?

Can’t help you regarding cranes flying north but over here in Germany I saw a few hundred cranes still migrating south yesterday

A couple of days ago some groups of cranes were still passing south west through the central area of Spain, here in Guadalajara. Regards

Moving around between feeding areas? 20-40 doesn't sound like a main migration ... and if the numbers are that constant could even be the same group moving to or from roost site?
