Cathayornis aberransis Hou L. H., Zhou, Zhang et Gu, 2002
Lianhai Hou, 2002
Fossil Birds of China
Yunnan Science and Technology Press 234 pg.
It is described in a book, and not available as pdf

[...]
One tiny question (or remark), Fred ... without intention to be picky, but most other Authors refer to this book as:
• Hou, L. H. (et al.), 2003. Fossil Birds of China. Kunming: Yunnan Science and Technology Press.

Like; here, here, here, here ... and elsewhere.

Which one is correct I cannot tell (as I haven't seen the book itself) ... or has there possibly also been a later (Chinese-English Edition)?!?

Either way, I just happened to notice the discrepancy.

Stay safe!

Björn

PS. Also see Laurent's post here. Or your own comment here and/alt. here, alt. in the (somewhat bewildering) entry for:
Bonasa dalianensis (Hou, 1990)
Lianhai Hou, 2003
Fossil Birds of China
Yunnan Science and Technology Press 234 pg.
I have this book as a pdf, you can ask me for it.
... in Neognathae thread (here).

Well, was it described in "1990", or in "2003" (alt. in 2002) ... ? ;)

Wikipedia cite Cathayornis aberransis among the fossil birds described in 2002, but in :
侯连海 [Hou L-H], 周忠和 [Zhou Z-H], 张福成 ([Zhang F-C], 顾玉才 [Gu Y-C]. 2002. 中国辽西中生代鸟类. [Mesozoic birds from western Liaoning in China.] 辽宁科学技术出版社 [Liaoning Science and Technology Publishing House], 沈阳 [Shenyang].
(The authorship there would also match "Cathayornis aberransis Hou L. H., Zhou, Zhang et Gu, 2002". But I have never seen this book; the species is not cited in the contents of the book, but this may mean little.)

(Wikipedia cite Tetrastes dalianensis among the fossil birds described in 1990, but they give no reference. This name was cited (without a description) in the 1989 SAPE information letter, as appearing in a paper that Hou Lian-Hai was said to have 'finished' (which I assume did not mean he had published it).)

Both species were certainly (also) addressed in Hou 2003 (contents).

(I would be interested in Hou 2003 as a pdf, if the offer still stands.)
