Looks like a bird left it. I can remember seeing these from my childhood, but I've forgotten what it is since then !
Key is 6 cm long. There were several of them under a Pine tree.

Many Wood Pigeons there (well, they are almost anywhere !). That would be a huge difference in size and look with those of the Common Pigeon !?
