Going to Vienna for 4 days in July, staying near the Belvedere Palace, can anyone suggest where would be good for birds and what would be possible

Thanks

Hello,

it really depends! Do you have a car or do you use public transportation? And how far would you go from Vienna or do you just want to bird in Vienna (how much time do you want to spend for birding)?

In and around Vienna really a lot of birds are possible!
For example, you can find 8 different species of woodpeckers in Vienna. The river danube and the natural habitats around it are always interesting for all kind of birds. The floodplain forest in the south- east of vienna and south- east/ east of vienna is especially interesting. There you have the chance to see white- tailed eagles, black and red kites and other raptors, beside all other kind of birds.

But as I said, it really depends on how much time you have, if you go by car or use public transportation and if you have any target species :)

Greetings from Austria
