you know as a central european b(i)ased birder, I struggle to avoid thoughts of Golden Oriole and Common Rosefinch here.

So it surely has to be a common bird. Maybe a Chaffinch? Or a variant Greenfinch, they can make similar sounds. Maybe your daughter can listen to those and say if this is right.
