Gambia - hotel with good grounds (2 Viewers)

Anyone else keeping an eye on the Ebola situation?

I've got a tour booked for November staying at the Senegambia. I know no cases have been reported from the Gambia but the countries affected are not a million miles away. I think Gambia have blocked flights from those countries and I suspect there is nothing to cause concern at the moment. However that could all change if the virus does spread.

Hi Mark,

We (Sunbird) use Kombo Beach hotel which situated on the beach has nice grounds, a large pool, and is only a few minutes walk from superb birding at Kotu Creek and the sewage ponds. The food there (so far) has been very good, but with many overseas hotels, the old caveat of bottled water - avoiding ice-cubes, salads and seafood is still advisable. Senegambia still has lots of birds in the grounds but the standard of accommodation as others have said, is a tad disappointing compared to it in its heyday.

Hope you get sorted - wherever you stay, it will be a superb birding destination!

The Kombo is in a great spot and is a smart looking hotel, almost next door to the Sunset Beach. Bigger but similar price.
