Woke up this morning to the sound of a dozen Bee-eaters around our in blossom Chestnut Tree after the bees, also the Nightingale in full song all through the night. Black and Common Redstarts buzzing around the barns and Blackcaps singing in almost every tree.

Common Whitethroats and Stonechats along the hedgerow, Cirl Bunting appearing then disappearing, while the Swallows are busy nest building.

A chaffinch is already on eggs in the bushes next to the lawn.

Haven't seen the pair of Hoopoes yet this week, but the Buzzards are still pairing up, with their cries heard almost all day.

Love this area of France and our garden especially.

Your garden list must be growing nicely by now O, after 3 years at our new place we’re still stuck in the ‘nervous nineties’!

still only 62 species so far, but it's only been just over a year. Plenty of time to catch you up Richard. Managed to photograph the Nightingale at last.
