This morning I saw a pair of Great Tits checking out my nestbox, one was fluttering around whilst the other went inside came out and started pecking the hole and then the other came and did the same thing and then they flew off together. Any body else seen this sort of activity yet?

Hi Chrissie :hi:
The blue tit that has been roosting in my sparrow box has been very active for a couple of weeks now. He's strutting up and down the washing line doing "shuttlecock" impressions and chasing off any other bird that comes near the box. No sign of a mate yet though.

Hi Chrissie,

We've got a nesting box that's regularly used by blue tits, and we've seen at least one blue tit showing an interest.

Cheers, :t:

I've had something similar. A Great Tit was inspecting what I think is an old Blackbird Nest. It was right inside, having a good look. Then a group of them were flying in and out of the ivy on the garage wall, twittering excitedly like sparrows. Harbingers of Spring?
