Gull - Vancouver Island (1 Viewer)

Can anyone help me with this gull from Vancouver Island? Picture was taken before I got interested in birds, and I'm not familiar with West Coast gulls. Could it be glaucous winged?

Looks pretty much fine for Glaucous-winged, though there can often be some hybrid influence on birds in that area.

It looks pretty dark for a Glaucous-winged to me - I would figure it to be a hybrid.

Although the head is in bright sunlight the tail and primaries appear not to be. Its a difficult one, but having seen lots of the so called Olympic Gulls up that way, there is always a possibility of hybridization.

Thanks. I find gulls quite difficult and all the hybridization possibilities make it even worse.
