Hello! please tell me, has anyone compared the Frontier ED X 8x42 with the Nikon Monarch 7 8x42 of the first generation?

Very briefly:

the two are in many ways, including FOV, close focus, CA correction etc. quite comparable.

Focus speed of the Monarch is a bit slower than the Hawke.

The Hawke has the advantage of more usable eye relief, so if you are observing with glasses, you need to check whether the Monarch has enough (measured from the rim of the eyecup, the Monarch has 13.5 mm, the Hawke 16 mm).

For my eyes, the Hawke exhibits slightly better central sharpness than the Monarch.

Some further remarks here:

I also found the frontier EDX to have a better image, particularly with correction of chromatic abberation. Both struggle with veiling glare.
