Good morning/afternoon/evening to you, whomever and wherever you are! I'm Jay, a full-fledged naturalist but nascent birder. I've only been identifying birds & taking part in ornithology related programs for a few years now, but my specialty lies in invertebrate taxonomy; as such, I'm trying to branch out into other groups. In my free time (and time not spent birding), I'm an Anthropology student dealing in mortuary archeology and museum ethics, and snapping macro photography of invertebrates.
I shoot my photos with a Nikon COOLPIX P1000, but I'm also fond of physical photography formats, and do occasionally shoot on 35mm with a Canon film camera. I'm incredibly fond of Apodiformes and Columbidae, as well as similarly unique/charming species recorded in the Northeastern United States; barnacle geese, horned grebes, and auks come to mind. My favorite bird happens to be the jay, given nomative determinism.
I look forward to getting to chat with you all and, overall, contribute to this forum! It makes me incredibly pleased to know there are those still keeping the forum as a concept alive.

Hi Jay and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.
