Hi everyone! I’ve been into birding for 10 years, I volunteer at our local observatory which monitor migrating birds, I don’t band but do next extraction and scribing. I have done one amazing trip to Costa Rica to the Osa peninsula in 2018 which opened my eyes to how amazing birding is in the tropics, and plan to go back!

I was a professional photographer for 8 years but never got into bird photography for some reason (well I didn’t want to buy a $5-10k lens) but I recently purchased a Kowa spotting scope and plan to try some digiscoping, which is why I joined this forum for some tips!

Hope to have some great interactions with you!

Sam

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)
We're glad you found us and please join in wherever you like ;)

I got started in digiscoping years ago but have to give it up with poor shoulders. I think you'll love it.

Hi Sam and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
