I'm Joop and I do live in Holland in the wrong part when it comes to recording nature sounds. I did start with tape recorders, then cassette recorders, made that digital and now I'm recording full digital, no moving parts any more. I own three parabolic reflectors with different sizes. The biggest is no longer an option in some parts of my country. I'm busy with special electronics just for capturing wild life sounds. Did stop 20 years ago with the project because of a chip which wasn't made any more, today it has three successors, so the design can go on, but now other parts are difficult. Today serious microphones are expensive because Sennheiser did stop with the famous K6 series. Replacement isn't easy, most microphones want phantom power. That's it for now, let's see what I can learn from you.
