Hello
My name is Brian and I'm from central iowa. Love to watch birds and want to get into posting photos and sharing my knowledge with others.
New to birding myself but I only have a cell phone fairly new and wanted to get advice on what would be a great digital camera and or idea (like phone attachment to tripod and zoom lens) that I could use.
Thanks for any advice you may have folks.

Wish I could answer your question but I would like to wish you a warm welcome from those of us on BirdForum !

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

We have a camera and equipment sub forum which you may find helpful. Good luck!

Hi Brian and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. What you are wanting to do is known is digiscoping (or phonescoping) and you will find the help you need in the dedicated forums for this here: The Birdforum Digiscoping Forum . When asking for advice it is always helpful if you can give some idea of your budget. For digiscoping you do need a sturdy tripod.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news and will hopefully be able to see some of your pictures in the Gallery.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
