Help for identification. England border. (1 Viewer)

Can someone help with this please? We though a juv kestrel but the feathers were different and tried using a bird app but just comes up as falcon? So any help would be appreciated.

Edit- changed my mind, brown markings on the chest and the lack of black markings on its coat seems to be better for merlin.

To me this is a large falcon. Head pattern would fit Saker but what does it do in England?

Definitely not merlin either after watching one also today. Plus this seemed bigger?

After looking through photos we noticed she had a blue ring on her foot so we are going to assume she was an escaped falcon/someone’s falcon. She was flying with another bird but didn’t see nobody around the area. But thank you. After looking at a photo of a saker, she looks a bit like one.

I know this is the merlin by the way haha. I was just using it as comparison to the other bird we saw.

I just assumed it was small- from that last picture I agree it’s definitely an escaped falcon.
