Hello,

I hope someone can help me identify this flower.... I was told it was
called a "Slipper Orchid".

This is not an Orchid (Orchidaceae) but a member of the Ginger family (Zingiberaceae). As to the actual genus, I have seen it before but can't remember it. I will research it for you.
