Saw this bird flitting in some low trees along the edge of a pond yesterday afternoon. The size and bill suggest warbler... any thoughts as to which one it is?

All photos are of the same bird.

Very pretty--this is a Myrtle Warbler, a representative of the eastern group of Yellow-rumped Warbler. Note the overall brownish appearance and the creamy white throat that extends subtly onto the sides of the face behind the 'ear'.
You probably heard the bird giving its low-pitched, square chip, too.

wow. so different from the spring/summer plumage. i wondered if that might be the case with the subtle streaking on the sides,... but i had no idea about the brown. thanks, guys.
