Hi Rbterrier and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hello,
welcome to birdforum!
First is a Meadow Pipit, Only a few passerines have long tertials, that cover the entire wing. Of those, Pipits are the ones with greyish/brownish back and spots/stripes on the body.

Second is a male Northern Wheater. Please note unique colouration, including black face mask
Thank you!

For the first one: why not tree pipit for the bold stripes on the forward underside and narrow stripes at the rear flanks?
Niels
