Hi, is it possible to id this bird from these very washed out photos? On structure I though maybe a brown shrike, juv with the scaling on the flanks, but then is it possible for the light to have washed out all colour from its head? Any ideas or suggestions very much appreciated. Same bird in all 3 photos:)
Thank you in advance
steve

As you've said, the head and neck are hit by light in an otherwise shadowy environment and thus are overexposed.
As a side note, females also have markings on the flanks. Can't help with the age of this bird, I can't judge the covert patterns from these photos, but someone with more experience might be able to.
