Is this a hawk, not sure what type, please ID? (1 Viewer)

Was paddling this morning on the Rideau River, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and took these photos (sorry, not very sharp, just too far away). The bird was much larger than the red wing black birds that were around it. My best effort that it's a hawk, but not sure what type. Please help out, thanks. Photos are originals, untouched.
