A comedy radio show in the UK features the "late arrivals" sketch. An example might be a late arrival at the hospital ball:
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Mr & Mrs Thesia and their daughter Anna Thesia. Get it?:t:

Just to get us started on the Birders' ball, what about:

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Mr & Mrs Sandpiper and their son, Derek Sandpiper.

or

Mr & Mrs Lineshrike and their daughter Isobel..........

Peter;)

We played this game in Morocco nearly 20 years ago and I've never forgotten "Lord & Lady Ette-Terne and their daughter Rosie". Hope its perpetrator is still blushing with shame.

And the very late arrival of Mr and Mrs Mulguseuropeaus and their daughter Capri

(It was a miracle they made it at all - first they nearly couldn't afford the tickets, then they got cortina thunderstorm.)

Not particularly relevant to ornithology, but I've always liked this one (which I read in New Scientist many years ago):

A Welsh couple, the Earchgrants, with their much sought-after son, Rhys.
