I will be arranging a specialist trip with 2-3 vehicles/guides this April to connect with the following target species, but as always very happy to build more into the itinerary. This trip is deemed safe with good guides, and relatively straightforwards. The on-ground costs are estimated to be $950/person.

Blue-naped Mousebird
African Grey Woodpecker
Reed Cormorant
WB Cormorant
Grey-headed Gull
W.African Crested Tern
Golden Nightjar
African Dunn's Lark
Cricket Warbler
Sudan Golden Sparrow
African Collared Dove

Hi Ben - I'm sure it's already on your radar but I'd include the Mauritanian race of Grey Heron as a target? Who knows, maybe one day that armchair might be useful!

That's a decent on-ground cost you've negotiated - I'd have been interested if I hadn't seen everything elsewhere. And agree Mauritania is perfectly safe (if a somewhat niche destination).

Worth adding to anyone interested, I don't know Ben personally but I do know he is brilliant at these WP trips - just read his Morocco report https://www.cloudbirders.com/be4/download?filename=MACDONALD_Morocco_05_2015.pdf - to get an insight into the effort he puts into research, logistics and the eventual report of all the WP trips he organises.

Cheers

Mike

PS Kari Haataja and crew were in Mauretania last month if you wanted to know the latest....?
