The volume of the contraption goes up at roughly the cube of the objective diameter,
so while 42 to 50 mm may not seem like much of a step, the width, height, and
length (to avoid distortion) all increase, and the weight therefore, shoot up.
I have some lightweight 7x50s and 10x50s. Awesome. Most are heavy though.
some advanced thin-shell graphite-composite 10x50s would be fantastic. The length
gives you inertial damping and if it's light there's less muscle tremor.
