Je pense que c'est à Mme Knip (Pauline de Courcelles) que M. Temminck a voulu dédier cette espèces: il me semble que c'est celle qu'il a figurée sur la Pl. 4 de ses Pigeons, comme femelle de l'ænea, mais le type ne se retrouve pas dans nos galeries où il était, dit-il, déposé.

According to her birth record ([here], 12-13 / 51), she was born Antoinette Pauline Jacqueline Rifer, on 26 Jul 1781, to Pierre Rifer, esquire, and Pauline Elisabeth Courcelles. Her father was indicated as "absent" in the birth record (the birth was declared by her godparents).
If her father died in the "guerre d'Amérique" (= the American War of Independence, which ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1783), she cannot have known him. (In fact, given his absence at the time of her birth, he may well never have seen her either, not even as a baby.)
She must have inherited "de Courcelles" in her name from her mother, who must have raised her as a widow.

Antoinette Pauline Jacqueline Knip née de Courcelles (1781-1851) was a French bird artist who wrote Les Pigeons (1811), and was employed as a painter on porecelain at the Sèvres factory, Paris.

Interesting is what was written on p. 212-213 of Ronsils publication:

Cet ouvrage du grand naturaliste hollandais devait paraître en trois volumes avec 250 planches de P . de Courcelles et Prêtre. Mais, en 1811, à la neuvième livraison et pendant l'absence de l'auteur, Mme Knip se l'appropria et en changea le titre:....

If I understood correct this lead to an conflict between Temminck and her.

But anyway on the reconstructed death record Visionneuse - Archives de Paris p. 15/51 no Rifer.
