Not even sure the 1st is a moth...

1 & 2 look quite similar, 4 & 5 are the same. 1 - 3 are from last month.

Thanks! the only difference is see is with 2. that all pictures show the abdomen darker than in my photo, but that's probably due to light, age, or local variation?

Hi again! 😲 Pic 3, looks like a micro moth, maybe, a Crambidae , but which one......... I haven't got a clue!

For 3 - Am I seeing white dots on the forewing edge? Synaphe punctalis? (bear in mind I'm a complete beginner...).

From a flick through Manley- I know it's heresy in some quarters but I find his guide easier for identifications than Waring...

Hi. I'll have to check that out, thanks! For micros, I have, Micro moths of GB & Ireland, by, Phil Stirling & Mark Parsons, illustrations by, Richard Lewington, excellent guide! I rushed in earlier with I'd, because a lot of Crambidae have long palps!......... I even got the family wrong! 😲 😂 There you go, you learn something new every day!
