My patch is around winchester (Hampshire). It has reed bed, a lake, mud, chalk grassland, farmland and meadows.
So far i have recorded 90 species this year on it! Considering it is inland this is a good number.
Highlights of the year have been: Iceland gull, Osprey (this afternoon), Little-ringed plover (again seen today), Med gull, Mandarin duck, Water rail,Wheatear (today), peregrines, barn owl and woodcock.
Other more common birds are: Tufted, pochard, wigeon, shoveler, goosander, cettis warbler, chiffchaff, little egret, teal, GBBG and LBBG.
With some very nice summer migrants coming through patch i am very annoyed that i am going away for the next two and a half weeks.
