October Moths 2022 (1 Viewer)

Black Rustic, three Red-green Carpets and a Vestal pick of last night's bunch. Also a very late but apparently not unknown in Hampshire Flounced Rustic.

Got the trap in just before the rain.

Too far north and too far inland here in Lufbra to even dream about catching a Crimson Speckled or anything else of that ilk but yesterday I was quite pleased to catch two Merveille du Jours (only one before, back in 2006) and today I had my first Blair's Shoulder-knot of the year plus a very late Vine's Rustic.

Not a great deal turns up in my actinic trap in South Hampshire - until Tuesday night, that is. Had Pseudozarba bipartita, a first for Britain. I had no idea what it was but thank goodness for experts. An African moth, apparently. More about it on Twitter, I'm told.

Quite by chance, I had one of these in my unidentified folder here in Cyprus!

Damn it Steve, that's the one species above all, that I wanted to see in the UK!
