Hi All

I am having a weekend in Keswick in early June and would like to do a bit of birding while I am there.

I would love to see the Osprey at Brassenthwaite Lake, can anyone give me any locations or areas where I have the best chance of seeing one?

Also any other site/area reccomendations for birding would be great?

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt.

Check out this link, which will give you details of the Osprey viewpoints plus more in the area:

Get yourself to the Osprey viewing point on Dodd. There is a dedicated bus that goes from Keswick to Mirehouse frm where it is but a short walk to the viewing point. The viewing point is staffed by volunteers and is equipped with telescopes. Last year the birds were nesting on the East side of the lake and the views of them from the Dodd viewing point were fantastic.
