We will be in the Rockies (Banff/ Jasper) for a week next June. I’d be very grateful for any info on birding sites that are recommended, although I realize that any forested area can hold target species.
We will be travelling on to Calgary to return to UK, are there any sites north of Calgary that might be worth visiting en route, with open country or grassland/ wetland breeding birds?
thankyou.

Hi cwp. Vermillion Lakes near Banff was worth a visit. And the road up to Medicine Lake (I think it was) gave great views of a Wolf. This was from Jasper. Clarks Nutcracker at Chateau Lake Louise car park.
