Pale Chanting Goshawk in Namibia ? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

For this Goshawk seen in August 2012, in Namibia on the south bank of the Etosha Pan, my first guess is for a Pale Chanting Goshawk. I have a small hesitation with a Dark Chanting Goshawk, mainly due to the upperpart color.
But the underparts being really white, and also due to location South of the Pan : according to Birdlife, the Dark seems only present on the North.
No real clue from AI apps, that have the same hesitation between both, the Pale being listed first.

Can we conclude to the Pale one ?

Amicalement,

Régis

Very pale area on wing = pale chanting-goshawk.
To be correct (and pedantic): a very pale Pale Chanting-Goshawk (BOW), or Pale Chanting-goshawk (Birdlife) or Pale Chanting Goshawk (birders), sometimes pale chanting goshawk (Butty)
English is a mess 😂

PCG is an extremely, common bird in Namibia, as we drove, there would literally be one on top of every other telegraph pole.
