We saw about 6 of them in the top of small small trees. They let us get reasonably close without flying away. If i had to describe their faint noises i would have to see they made a repetetive 'di-doo, di-doo' (sorry).
While i was watching them i did not believe they were greenfinches, but the pictures are making me think you are going to tell me they are. Definite forked tail, all 6 were the same color, nearly all pale brown
