We saw these birds in late July on the shore of Protection Island in the Puget Sound near Port Townsend, Washington, USA. They were flying down to the waters edge and seemed to forage there, in a flock of about 10. They look a little like Hermit Thrushes, but the behavior and location seem off. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks!
