Striated Heron or Black Bittern?, Guangxi, China (1 Viewer)

Observed this past week in Guangxi. At edge of small pond. Seemed dark overall. Did not get clear view of the belly/underside.
Striated Heron has been observed at this location in the past, but wondered about Black Bittern. Sorry about terrible photo quality.
