Suggestions for APS-C long zoom? (1 Viewer)

I'm looking for an economical zoom lens, new or used, for a6xxx cameras. Don't currently have a good zoom for birds, so something that's sharp and 300-400mm on the long end. Budget is about $750. Appreciate any recommendations!

Not sure if you could stretch to it but the Sigma 100 - 400 maybe of interest. If you can find a second hand model it should be well within reach of your budget.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim. Reviews look good and I also like the light weight. Considering the Sony 70-350 as well.

Reviving this thread...
Looking at an a6400 and wondering what best option for zoom is. Would like to keep weight/bulk down if possible. Go with the Sony 70-350?

Consider dropping the APC requirement and use the m4/3 format with a pana-leica 100-400 instead. If you really want to keep the weight down go with the same type of camera and a 100-300 lens to be considerably under the Sony Rx10 in weight.
