Wow, they look like 100 toilet rolls on a pole !!!! Great picture, my Blue Tits nestbox looks rather lonely in comparison !! :eek!:

Pam, thanks for your reply. It is tall house, that is for sure. It is designed specifically for Purple Martins. They actually have been sighted at the "Butt of Lewis" in Scotland. How far are you from there?
 
Hiya, I am precisely 588 miles from the Butt of Lewis, it would take me 17 hours to get there by car according to the AA route finder!!! Would love to see them though perhaps they will travel further South one day!!

Nope. Purple Martins are Progne subis and House Martins are Delichon urbica. Both are migrants, but Purple Martins are N to S America and House Martins are Europe - Africa.
