I suddenly started to get a message after Tb updated recently. Every time I go to move an email into another folder it says:

The messages you have deleted can be purged from the disk. This will save 51.7 MB of disc space. Select the option below to let Thunderbird do this automatically without asking you.

I can only Proceed or Cancel and cancelling brings back the message every time I move something. I don't like the idea of 'purging' anything

Any ideas how to stop the message altogether?

Thanks MM. I've always had the setting clicked and it only came up occasionally when I was actually deleting emails. Now it comes up every time I move them.

I've unticked under Disc Space... Compact all folders when it will save over 11 mg, so I'll see if that does, indeed, stop it happening.

Seems like other folk have been having the same problem

Hope turning off compacting works.
Thanks for that Mono... I should have thought to check that out first, silly me.

Well who would have thought that they keep a copy of the moved items in the in box!!! Can't really understand the reasoning behind that one.

Having unticked that box re compacting the folders.... I now can't tick it again as it's completely disappeared????
