Hey all,

I work at a retail store in the Lehigh Valley and while vacuuming the store before close I was thinking about my top three birds I want to see right now and they are:

1. Golden Eagle
2. Northern Shrike
3. Northern Goshawk

Wondering what others want to see :t:

Best,
Matt

I'd settle for anything new, I saw a grand total of two yearticks through the whole of August!

But if I had to pick three...

1. Hoopoe
2. European Bee-eater
3. Black-crowned Night Heron

Cool top three Matt- all strong predators.

My top three most wanted for where I live (Costa Rica) are:
1. Unspotted Saw-Whet Owl
2. Masked Duck (y neotropical nemesis!)
3. Red-fronted Parrotlet

My top three for North America are:
1. Elf owl
2. Lawrences Goldfinch
3. a flock of northeastern Alcids with Razorbill, Dovekie and Atlantic Puffin

My top three world birds are:
1. Any bird of Paradise
2. Phillipine Eagle
3. Golden Dove

- Kinglet Calyptura
- White-winged Potoo
- Marvellous Spatuletail

although I'm sure I will change my mind in 15 seconds, lol

OK, you can say that my three were North America!

My 3 for my area are:
1. Peregrine Falcon
2. Red-shouldered Hawk
3.Northern Saw-Whet Owl

World 3:
1. Red Kite
2. Cassowary (or however it's spelled, and that counts right?)
3. Stellar's Sea Eagle

In North America:

Spotted Redshank
Great Gray Owl
Long-billed Murrelet

There are dozens of North American species I haven't yet seen that are more prosaic or common than those...those three are simply ones I really really want to see.

I saw one of my 'top' ones a couple of weeks back... a Kingfisher.

Now, I know some people will say "Ah... you can see them everywhere", but this year I've kept on missing them... always at the wrong time at the right place and had been to numerous haunts - so I'm really happy to have seen at last!

:t:

The other two on my list?

Puffin... and a 'pure white' Blackbird (i.e. one with 'albinism').

Neil.

I want a hazel grouse quite badly, also capercaillie, and CRANE! Now that my dad's seen a pair in Shropshire, it's about time I saw a few in France!

1. Balearic shearwater - been trying all year for one, but looking good for tomorrow at dungeness 'fingers crosssed'.
2. Audouin's Gull (dipped on 2 so far) grrr...
3. Bee-eater

Only 3....??

Harpy Eagle
Marvellous Spatuletail
Emperor Penguin

Though, like Aracari, I'll probably change my mind very soon - too many to choose from!!
PS. Birdingcraft - Orange Dove is much more stunning then Golden!!

It is so hard to choose just three top birds- I could go for the Spatuletail myself and yes, I think I might change that to Orange Dove- it does look quite stunning! I would at least love to see any of those ridiculously colored Fruit-Doves.
