New one for me ! The tree seems to have Maple/Sycamore/Plane leaves. However it is "dropping" pipe-cleaner length (8-10cm) yellowish colour strands...lots...on the wood floor. This are fibreous and tough and can be knotted into a long line of them that are very hard to break/untie.They are about half a cm in width.Any ideas please ?!

Further to my reply...I think the "items" falling could be "over" the Sycamore/Maple tree.Could my description be Alder or similar ?

headington7, just to exclude something that is not clear from your description - it's not thin strips of bark caused by grey squirrel bark stripping damage by any chance? Maples are particularly prone.
