Just been watching the juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker having a good feed at the coconut feeder.

A couple beautiful sightings from my yard this morning before I left to work. On my feeder, a large group of purple-throated euphonia. They come frequently but rarely I see such a big group like this morning. And on my neighbour's tree, the roadside hawks were breeding. Caught them in the act but when I went for my camera and back they were already gone. Would have been a great photo.

Been enjoying watching the birds in the garden this morning. There’s been a lot of activity on the feeders so I thought I would do some Garden Birding. It was great the birds I saw were
1 Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker
14 Juvenile Blue Tit
1 Woodpigeon
2 House Sparrow
2 Great Tit
2 Stock Dove
1 Magpie
2 Blue Tit
1 Dunnock

A new Türkiye garden species for me

Walking home from the restaurant and found a firefly in a bush along our lane

Quietly pleased 😀

Alpine Swifts dominated the day here in YesilUzumlu
Hard to count as they were at all sorts of altitudes and circling over a good few hundred meters but I estimate well over 50+

The beautiful Red Rumped Swallows in good numbers too

Three Oliveacous warblers and Eastern Black eared Wheatear still at the bottom of the lane, Syrian Woodpecker, Jays and the large colony of House Sparrows.

Otherwise still very quiet in the garden

Both Tawny Owl and Scops Owl calling this evening (possibly three Scops in earshot)

Youngest filled up the feeders for the first time in months on Friday. Nice selection of birds have returned: Nuthatches, Goldfinches, Blue/Coal and Great Tits, and a young Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Farmer harvested his crop field so we will see what comes to the stubble field over the next few days.

Few more returning birds today. 1st Collared Dove in months. Long-tailed Tits and a surprise male Siskin. Next to the house was a ChiffChaff and a great looking male Blackcap.
