Very early swallows (1 Viewer)

Yesterday, in the nearest village called Cantarranas, I saw 4 swallows sitting on the wires. It seems very early!

Or overwintering.

There have still been 4 - 12 or so in the Penzance area, Cornwall this month.

This all makes my 4 swallows to be nothing out of the ordinary!

Has swallow migration started already? I noted several swallows perched on overhead wires in early August, and a few days ago, a massive flock over Pennington marshes which now seem to have gone. I wonder whether the hot weather has helped in an abundance of insects, and autumn is going to get cold and wet
