I would describe myself as a keen amateur rather than a professional birdwatcher. Work committments prevent me spending as much time as I would like in the field, but I still get great enjoyment when I do have the chance to dust the bins off.
Wirral and the immediate surrounds have a wondedful variety of habitats, so there is usually something of interest around.
Good birding everyone.

Hi Wirral Rover and welcome to Bird Forum from all the Staff and Moderators.

There's plenty of members from your area and I'm sure you'll have lots to talk about with them.

Welcome from Manchester - I will be heading your way tomorrow in the hope of a wind blown Leach's Petrel!

Leasowe, New Brighton, Hilbre should all stand a good chance with the predicted westerlies. Good luck.

And thank you to everyone for the warm welcomes.
