Woodpecker? Fairburn Ings (1 Viewer)

Gramayr

Slightly barking..
Saw a Kingfisher and this was perched nearby (saw both in my bins). My other half thinks it's a fake put there by someone. Had a look through my bird guide and all the pics of woodpeckers that looked similar had red heads, this one has a yellow head.

The pics was taken on my Canon Ixus through my 10x42 binos - hence a shaky pic. Couldn't steady it on anything as when I did the view was impaired. Zoomed in and cropped in PS.

Any ideas?

Ta - Rhys.

It's untickable Rhys, it's plastic.
Although you do get Gt spots on a reasonably regular basis on the Riverside trail, and occasionally by the visitor centre.

Ah, so it is a red herring - our lass said it was, could've been written into a Monty Python sketch then.. lol. Nearly fooled me as I wasn't paying much attention to it, and it didn't move at all in 2 hours - was still there after a long walk.
First time to Fairburn Ings, nice place, will be going again.

At least we saw a Kingfisher (her first - very excited)

(Also shot through my binos and cropped in Gimp - Linux can't handle PS :( )
