Not been on BF for a while! Yearlist is now on 290, latest is the Buff-Bellied Pipit at QMRes. What a bird! Spent some time locally over the christmas period, with some decent birds like Red-Breasted Mergansers (1 Drake, 2 Ducks) on a reserve near my house and a few seaduck off HArtlepool Headland, as well as two Great Crested Grebes and a red-throated divers. On boxing day I went back to the same sites to try out my new scope (my last broke in August) and had some decent views of a Black Throated Diver and Short Eared Owls

It has been a long time since my last update.
Year-list is at 213,latest spieces:Rough-legged Buzzard and Syrian Woodpecker.Dendrocopos syriacus is quite rare in NE Poland,so I'm very glad that I recorded this woodpecker.

Apologies for the late final standings, been busy over the new year and have just had the time to compile this. Thanks all for submitting your final totals. Congrats to Josh as the overall winner and again to Michael for comfortably being the British winner. I finished the year on 226, with progression very slow since the end of October but with Desert Wheatear to round things off. Very glad with this though considering I didn't try too hard.

Continued good birding to everyone this year. The yearlist competition will be running again, so if you're interested pop a post in with your current totals.

Cheers,

Joseph

Seeing as this might be my only opportunity stand in first place in this years year list (since I'm the first to submit mine) I'll be honest and say I'm at a measly total of 30 species. Rose-coloured Starling being today's highlight,

Good birding to all for 2013 :t:
